Interactive medical cases were a key feature at the latest BMS Sprycel Symposium “A New Generation for Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia: Optimising Patient Outcomes in 2011”, held in Munich in February 2011. The Symposium, organised by BMS Sprycel’s European team brought together over 700 medical specialists from across the world. Sprycel is Bristol-Myers Squibb’s treatment for chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML).
Richard Adams, EMEA Marketing Director, wanted delegates to experience a high level of interactivity during this meeting. Case-Builder and PowerVote were hired to introduce high impact interactive presentations during the symposium. Richard Adams said: “Case-Builder and PowerVote work very well as a combined technology. Case-Builder offers a versatile, easy to use platform to showcase the interactive clinical cases developed. The PowerVote keypads are handy, easy to use portable devices that are at the forefront in terms of response times.”
As a platform, Case-Builder provides the ability to publish clinical cases and algorithms that leverage the views of key members of the scientific faculty. The patient-oriented clinical cases engage audiences and stimulate debate amongst peers through the voting facility. Case-Builder may be used for multiple purposes such as training through screen kiosks, in online report tools or as a post meeting resource. As such it is unique in revealing insights into customer perceptions to align scientific messaging across regions for example.
BMS Sprycel will now roll out Case-Builder into the field, where the marketing and sales teams will trial the interactive clinical cases. Richard Adams said: “Case-Builder is a very interesting tool. I was impressed with the visual impact of the tool and how easy it was to use even for non-technical people!”
BMS have used the PowerVote keypads for meetings across many areas of the organisation since 1999. Designed to involve audiences for lively interactive meetings, voting systems are a well established tool in the medical sector to engage audiences and involve them in the proceedings. John Fairbairn, MD at 3PS Media, said: “Together, Case-Builder and PowerVote offer a fully compatible service for interactive medical cases. The voting system’s ease of use makes it an ideal partner for Case-Builder”.
